Melrose House Museum
Melrose House was requisitioned by Lord Roberts during the Second Boer War (1899-1902) as hte British Headquarters after the British invasion, June 1900
The Treaty of Vereeniging (Treaty of Unity) was signed here. In 1971, it was opened as a museum
Melorse House show the transition from Victorian to Edwardian styles. Stained glass windows, porcelain ornaments, living quarters, the from the old styles, and a beautiful garden are opposite Burgers Park.
