The Kumquat is situated in the quiet suburb of Bryanston. The setting is in an old, quaint, white-washed thatch cottage built in 1910 which is part of the original old farm. The gardens and interior design of the restaurant are inspired by the Provence region in the South of France. Fragrant lavender borders and terra cotta pots filled with fresh herbs inspire and soothen the senses. Famed for it's magnificent light and colour, Provence has traditionally attracted the artistically minded, from Gauguin and Picasso to Chagall and Pagnol.

The Kumquat has successfully recreated the Provence setting with the accent on an outside feel. The décor is simple and minimalistic with crisp white tablecloths, wooden umbrellas and terra cotta tiled walkways surrounded by washed gravel. There is no better way to enjoy your meal than to sit outside and indulge in this magnificent, quiet and tranquil atmosphere surrounded by giant Conifers and watching the birds in the huge old trees.

The bird life is abundant with rare species like the Paradise Flycatcher, Barbettes and Kingfishers making regular appearances. It is hard to imagine you are in a bustling metropolis when sitting out in the garden. All you hear are the birds, trickling water fountains and the gentle breeze. The décor and ambience provides patrons with a relaxed and unwinding environment.

The food is creative, but simple, using only the freshest and finest ingredients. We use organic fruit and vegetables and herbs picked from our own garden when possible. The menu is easy to follow and ever changing, with the emphasis being on classic dishes. Our specialties include our Full English and Health Breakfasts (served all day), our fresh salads, of which the Cobb Salad is a stand-out and our world famous Quiches. To round off a meal try one of our delicious cakes or desserts with a cup of true Italian coffee.

The Kumquat by day Zsuzsa's Hungarian Restaurant by night.

Cozy pub with log fire complimented by true Hungarian cuisine. For the less adventurous all the Kumquat favourites are still available. We can seat 40 people making it the ideal function venue for smaller parties. We can arrange set menus.
