It was renamed to Springbok Park, the South African National BuckThree hectares of bushy park covered in indigenous plantilife, situated between Pretorius and Francis Baard street.  A popular venue for wedding photos, Springbok Park is named after the South African National buck.

As a well loved park it is always wise to not go alone and be careful at night, and safety in numbers. It was declared a National Monument in the 1979.
