Zonderwater POW Museum
The biggest , and most famous prisoner of war detention camp buit by the Allies during WWII, Zonderwater is a thought provoking memorial just 43 kms from Pretoria. Originally a tented city from 1941, part was transformed into a red brick and wooden townfor the 8000 prisoners in 1943. The Capacity was for 112 000 men. The town included theatres, schools, sports areas and religious buildings.
Currently the museum seems to be closed over weekends, however more information can be sent to info@gauteng.com
